Since September 1, 2000, Gary M. Lavergne has served The University of Texas at Austin as the Director of Admissions Research. In that capacity he has conducted studies and authored a number of reports and articles in the area of college admissions. He also designed and authored the Admissions Research Web Page.

He has also delivered powerful keynote addresses for such groups as the National Coalition for At-Risk Children, the Texas Writers' Project, the Texas Association of Tactical Police Officers, and many other associations of professional educators and law enforcement officers.
