January 27, 2011 Gary M. Lavergne presented the inaugural keynote address for the 2011 Heman Sweatt Symposium on Civil Rights. Click on the image below to hear his entire address. January 27, 2011 During the evening the UT Division of Diversity and Community Engagement and Undergraduate Admissions Center hosted a reception honoring the Sweatt family and special guest Gary Lavergne, the author of Before Brown. This was a very special event for the University.
